These U.S. prices for the 2100 are making my mouth water!
What would be a reasonable price to pay for the 2100 and where in the Ottawa, Kingston, Toronto area should I shop for said price? Hmmm...Daniel, you must have contacts...

Well, the list price is $199 CDN... quite a bit less than $179 US. However, I can't really say where you'll be able to find it for an equal price to some of the US street prices.

I live in Montreal (suburbs) and bought mine at "The Sony Store". It is CA$199, but I had priced it at like 5 places on the West Island and it was the same price everywhere. The sony store advantage is excellent after sales warranty service.
So I'd say "Buy it There" for the CA$200, unless you really want to dig for a better price in the small shops downtown, but be careful of poor service should the unit ever fall defective. Remember that this is a remote, not a receiver, TV... so you won't find any incredible deals.
You can also try Borderfree.com and shop at a US site, but you may not save all that much, and the hastle of returning the unit... could prove frustrating.
