Dan: It's been a few months since I helped set up a 900 for a friend. But, I believe that all you need to do is teach the "on" codes from your TV and receiver to the 900. (If they are already on the 900, disregard this.)

Then setup a new macro to the System Control 3 button with the functions you want. This will overwrite the default settings.

Well, there's two problems:

1) The SYSTEM 3 macro is the only one with discrete codes;
2) If you reprogram the macro (as you'll have to), you'd only be able to use the normal toggle power codes -- not discrete "on" codes. Although you can access those codes in macros on the RM-AV2100, you can't for the RM-VL900. You may actually find the toggle codes work OK for you.
