Anyone have both of these components? I believe the 2100 came out before the DAV-S300 so I'm wondering if the 2100 is setup to handle all the functions of these multi-systems (integrated DVD player & receiver) and if not, could the system be programmed into the remote as separate components, even though it's really just one component? I tend to think that being both are Sony, they should work together nicely - but you never know, especially considering the large number of functions associated with just one component (all DVD and receiver controls).

I have Sony DAV-S300 and VL900 remote.I used this learning remote to learn Amp and DVD separately on AMP and DVD component buttons on VL900. I can power up and use Amp functions by selecting AMP button and then DVD functions. It works fine no problems. I think you can program 2100 the same way.

If it's not built-in, you can easily learn the commands on the 2100 as Harmin mentions.
