I have programmed the MD/DAT device to control my X10 components. I use the Channel Up/Down as On/Off and the Volume +/- as the dimmer.
I learned those signals from my Home Producer 8 remote. Everything works fine except that the commands don't seem to "repeat" when I hold down the buttons. I.e. one command only is sent at a time, and I have to release and push again many times.
I have an IR repeater which lignts a LED when detecting IR signals, so I used it to check when the remote emmits signals. With this, I was able to see that on the Home Producer 8, the signal is emmited as long as I hold the button down, on the AV2100, the learned signal is sent for a brief moment (probably equal to the time I pushed the button when learning) then it stops.
The same thing happens with learned commands from my Digital Camera remote (I programmed the Up/Dn/Right/Left arrows on the LCD screen to handle the scrolling in a zoomed image when viewing the pictures on my TV). In the original remote, holding down the arrows scrolls smoothly around the picture, with the learned commands on the AV2100, I have to puch and release, and of course, the scrolling effect is all but smooth.
Is this normal behaviour for the AV2100/learning remotes in general?
Thanks, Ludo.

I think we covered something very close to this in the previous thread. :-) You must hold the keys down when learning until the RM-AV2100 finishes learning. You can't just "press" the button.

Oh, I see, duh. I am starting to get it, don't give up on me ;-) Seriously, I understand now how the AV2100 is looking for a repetitive "pattern" in order to issue its own codes, etc. If I abort prematurely, the sequence is learned but not handled properly by the remote.
Thanks again Daniel!
