I recently bought an AV2100 and like it pretty well. But I was very surprised that the display is so hard to see. Even with the backlight it is dim and the viewing angle is very narrow. The screen seems opaque almost. I had a phone that had a protective plastic film over the screen; when I peeled it off the display was great! Any chance there is a film over the AV2100 screen? Can't see any edges and the manual doesn't mention that, but...
Any thoughts appreciated!

No, there's no film. You'll find the viewing angle is better with your eyes at a direct angle to the screen. If you have the front of the remote tilted up, I find the screen fades out.
