I recently bought a Toshiba W-501 VCR. It comes with a VC-501 remote control. I have a Sony TV which comes with the RM-Y165 universal remote. The manual suggests 311 ot 312 as the codes for Toshiba. These don't work, nor have I found a code yet that does. Any suggestions ?

Jeff,
I personally would use this as a good excuse to toss out these two remotes and pick up the Sony RM-VL900!

Hmm, Toshiba's pretty generic... they ought to work. But if a preprogrammed remote doesn't have what you need, it simply doesn't have it...
