I just bought the last DA777es in the midwest. Great price, no remote(s). I got the place where I bought it to buy me new remote(s) but we are not sure what the model #'s are. I think there are 2 remotes, one an IR two way and the other a RF for the second room. SONY is NO help. Does anyone know what the correct remote(s) are?

goto this link ( http://servicesales.sel.sony.com/ )type in your model number in the spares part, this will give you the model number & price. Once you have this then goto ebay and search under the following sony rm sony remote Many av remotes will do the task, if however you want the 2 way feature you will be stuck with the original one for this model. Occasionally this will appear on ebay

I bought the 777ES myself. The 2 way remote works great especially when you customize your radio stations and your devices that are hooked up then you will appreciate the 2 way remote. I have both the RM-TP503 and the RM-LJ304 the latter is easier to hold in your hands and work with but lacks some of the advanced features of the original remote RM-TP503, good-luck.

Wilson, did both remotes come with the 777es or did you buy the RM-LJ304 separatly? Is the RM-LJ304 IR or RF?
Does the RM-TP503 have a jack on the left side near the bottom for an AC adapter?
Thanks For the help.

Pete I bought the RM-LJ304 separately after fighting with RM-TP503 continuously, believe me you have to use both hands when using the RM-TP503. The RM-TP503 has no adapter port at least mine has none, it uses batteries in a hurry, I had to hook up mine to a Universal adapter to save on batteries, I dont recommend you do it unless you are certain of what you are doing. The RM-LJ304 is great but cannot adjust the EQ, Speaker set up or the other Advanced settings. You can easily programme it to do this though with some effort. Both of these remotes can also control your lights (X-10 products)very well, hope I helped you good luck.

The RM-TP504 seems to be the the upgraded version with the port on the side for recharging, rechargeable batteries. It seems to be more advance in a few ways than the RM-TP503, I would go for the RM-TP504, good luck Pete.

Wilson,
I can't find the RM-LJ304 remote on the Sony site. Is it an older model? Is it a generic "universal" like the AV2100 or did it ship with another receiver? I was trying to compare it with the RM-TP503/4. Do you have any suggestions for where I might find the specs on this remote.
The place where I bought the receiver ordered a remote but they dont know the model number!:( So I have to cross my fingers its the correct model. If it is the RM-TP503 I am going to get another that is not as hungry for power (and one I can run with one hand behind my back).
Thanks Again for your help, Pete

Wilson,
Do you know of any fimware upgrades for our receivers? I know there is at least 1 for the 9000 preamp and I have been told the 777 and the 9000 have the same firmware but I have no idea if the upgrade for the 9000 would work for the 777. Any thoughts?
Thanks, Pete

Hey Pete call (800)222-Sony if you cannot find the RM-LJ304 on E-BAY "per Guy's Reference".The price from Sony may make you consider buying the Receiver, just kidding. last time I checked It was between $140.00 and $150.00 for the RM-LJ304. I dare you to ask them the price on the RM-TP504. This Site is very cool, thanks to Mr.Daniel Tonks, guys like Guy that sounds kinda funny and you Pete, good luck.
