I bought the Sony RM-V-60 remote in the hope that it would operate my Motorola (formerly GI) DCT2000 cable box. While it does change the channel and turn the box on and off, none of the menu buttons are implemented (even though they're there).

Is there a Sony remote that will operate all of the major functions of this cable box?

Hey, all - listen to Daniel (and Jim). Daniel is right on target, I've been through the DCT2000 problem, and you definitely will need a "learner" for it. Someday there may be standard codes for it, but not yet.

As Jim says, the 2100 does a terrific job with a DCT2000 (not that other learners won't, but the 2100 is well-proven and very easy to program the cablebox, so long as you have a cable remote to learn from.

I have the DCT 2000 and my RM VL900 remote handles all the capabilites as the original remote, including meus and sub menus. No better remote for the money than this VL 900.
