As of today, etronics was out of stock, and I found a cheaper price than ecost (because of that pesky "handling fee" they tack on in addition to shipping, which offends me). Tey populardigital, $94 cost plus $14.95 standard UPS shipping, for $108.95 total.

You have to live near a Sony Factory Outlet store to take advantage of this deal, but I was at the one in Lake Elsinore (southern California) today and they had refurb/B-stock 2100s for $69.95/ea.

There are about a dozen locations nationwide. They will not give out prices over the phone, nor are any of them mail-order shops so you must go there in person.

Handy for folks who live in the Riverside area but Lake Elsinore seems like a strange location - well, better than Lone Pine or El Centro I suppose :)

Cheers, Jim.

Got mine at ecost.com for $112.95 (total includes the bothersome $5.95 handling charge). They are fast, ordered it Saturday evening, received it Monday morning.

The Sony outlet, about 60 miles away, carries the 2100 new and 2000 reburbished. As someone noted, they wouldn't give prices over the phone. Rather than drive down there and find out they sell the new 2100 at list, has anyone seen a new 2100 at an outlet and what were they selling it for? By the way, this is the Sony outlet at Castle Rock in CO. Thanks

response to dferrey

I went to the Sony Outlet in Tracy CA tonight and they had new 2100's for $129.99. No remanufactured ones though...and that's what I was looking for. Lake Elsinore is a tad too for for a good deal.
