Help!! I've seen this problem mentioned but nobody has offered help. I'm hoping maybe now somebody will be able to help. I have a pioneer vsx-d608 receiver and the codes for the av2100, when put in, wont allow a dvd source button. The problem is, the original pioneer remote doesn't have individual source buttons, only a button that will cycle through them. Any help on how to get the dvd source button on the lcd screen would be greatly appreciated.

If I understand you correctly....

I own a Pioneer VSX-509... I programmed the DVD Component Source Button to automatically switch the receiver to DVD when pressed... check the macro programming instructions...

Will this solve your problem??

Sounds like:

1) The original remote only has an input toggle button.
2) The RM-AV2100 is lacking the "DVD: button.

If these two are correct, it seems there's nothing else you can do without another remote around with the DVD button you want. Have you considered "stealing" the code from a remote in an electronics store?

I have a VSX-D608 and use the Cinema 7 remote to control it. You're right... the original Pioneer remote is lacking discrete input source select buttons, but I found through experimentation that the Advanced Function for the DVD is 192 on the C7 remote. Perhaps you can buy (then return) or borrow a C7 long enough to program it for the Pioneer rcvr (using device code 0013) and then assign Advanced Function 192 to any button you want using the Key Mover. Now you can press this button on the C7 and "learn" it into your AV2100. Hope this helps.

While I'm up... does anybody know the Advanced Function for the "Dolby mode" on the VSX-D608? I haven't found that yet. Not the "surround DSP mode", but the Dolby select mode. Maybe the C7 just doesn't know that button. That's the only function I've had to "learn" for the Pioneer so far (and it's STEALING memory that I could use for my ReplayTV buttons!)
