Whenever I press a button on my RM-761 remote a little LED flashes under the word "Learn" and absolutely nothing happens on the TV (also Sony). There's a switch on the back of the remote marked "Use" and "Learn" - it is very firmly in the "Use" position. I inherited the TV when I got married and have never seen a manual for it. I appreciate that it is an old model, but if anyone can tell me how to get out of Learn mode I would be very grateful!

I wish I could help you I'm on page two looking for the remote your having trouble with. It may be defective and can be repaired, you know it's been so long since you asked for help you probably don't even come here any more but this is how desperate I am, by chance your tv is gone but you still have the remote I could try to get it fixed or if you did and no longer have a use for maybe I could buy yours? They no longer supply the 761a and they replace it with 762a for the unbelieivable sum of almost 300 Canadian dollars. If you can help me great if not thanks anyway John C
