NBC has picked up Common Sense, a half-hour topical alternative comedy series featuring real people commenting on the week’s news and events. The network has given a six-episode order to the project, which already has been picked up to series by BBC Two in the U.K..

Common Sense will feature a cast of recurring characters in different states — duos and trios made up of friends, colleagues or family members — sharing their opinions on seven or eight news stories of that week, from the big headlines to the random local happenings.

To stay topical, Common Sense will have a quick turnaround, with an episode airing within a week of it being filmed. It will cover all kind of news — political, sports, celebrity, etc., along with smaller local stories.

Didn't like AG, but Braindead was a hoot, was looking forward to their razing of Wall Street.

In response to Mr. Campbell's comments:

One of the reasons shows get cancelled prematurely is in this article by The Drum.

"54 percent of millennials and just 17 percent of baby boomers have “show dumped,” giving up on a show they previously enjoyed because it became too difficult to access the content."

►   CBS is developing a legal drama titled “Mrs. V. Mr.,” the project follows a prominent, larger-than-life L.A. defense attorney and the chief prosecutor for the DA’s office who are constantly at odds in the courtroom.

►   CBS  orders 13 episode thriller "Salvation" for summer season.
The hourlong series centers on an MIT grad student and a tech superstar who stumble upon the discovery of a (probably much-shortened) lifetime: An asteroid is six months away from colliding with the earth.

I knew Millennials had short attention spans, but there is some truth to the above. As a downloader, I'm adapt at finding the content I want, even the pay crap. Even willing to wait for the d/l to complete, though its not as bad as it was in the old days, used to have to leave the download manager running all night and part of the day and set to have it close and shut the PVR down while I was out of the house, patience rules!
Though the network did move the broadcast times of Braindead, around sports schedules and politics. This is where timeshifting is the most favoured feature.....people who stream want instant gratification.
If you're an old fart like me, who started in 1980 building Sinclair ZXs and Heathkit short waves, you are a natural tinkerer, sadly few of the M crowd have an interest in that unless they are a gamer. In that crowd it becomes a sense of pride to build the most bad-ass desktop rig they can afford. The majority go to laptops and tablets, they only have the desire to be users, not admins. Me, when I can afford it, enjoy the challenge of DIY. However, I too have the urge to constantly check listings, some even take it further and pay a subscription to schedulesdirect.org and with a piece if software, tie it into their PVR utility, so they never miss a show, completely unattended.
