I live in south Oakville, getting great reception with two antennas, an 8 bay facing east and a 4 bay facing south. NBC and ABC struggle to come in clearly but once it locks in its great. I don't get City tv (57.1) at all. Anyone west of Mississauga get CITY TV? Also, why is reception better at night? One last question, how do I get 5.1 surround from my tv to my stereo receiver? It was easy with HDMI cable but it's coaxial and rca cable for me now. Good riddance COGECO!!

Might want to check the height of your antenna's. I am in Burlington and use a similar set up.
I find I get issues with the signal on ch 2 and 29 out of Buffalo, but only for brief periods (of course it is typically right in the middle of what ever show I am watching)
Aiming is important too.
TV fool is a web site with a ton of good information about how you should be aiming your antenna and at what height(s) you can get good signals, and what stations are located where in relation to your home.
I have to get up on the roof one last time before it gets too cold out and make a few more adjustments.
As for surround from your TV, does it have a digital output (optical or coaxial) that you can input into your surround receiver? If so, this should give your AV system whatever is being delivered.
I have not used them. but there are DVR boxes for Off air systems, and these also typically will have a digital output for surround systems.

Good morning sirroundsound,
Thanks for the info and the heads up on on the TVfool website, there's plenty that I need to educate myself on and this website is great. According to my tv signal's analysis report, I should receive City tv (57.1) so I'll just have to do some investigating. My tv and audio receiver do have digital audio jacks for the sorround sound, I was just trying to avoid having to fish more cable through my walls:)

Im in Burlington at the lakeshore.

No HDTV.

my question is: anyone notice changes in channel 67 of late?

Recently I'm not picking up any picture at all.

The only change is that , three weeks before when I had no rotor on the tv tower ,I was getting 67.1, .2 and.3.
Now that I put on the rotor (and the antenna is even a foot or two higher) seems it affected reception of this channel????

I realize it is a rather difficult channel to pick up here but...has the station gone down?

I lost channel 7 by moving the antenna up 2 feet. I changed the setup by placed the two 4-bays vertically instead of horizontally on the mast and got 7 back with better reception.
