So I run an event once a year, and we picked up some cheap TVs. They get used for the event, and then stored for the rest of the year. One of these is a Scott/Akai LCT32SHA. I unpacked it this year and found that it's missing the remote. Not a huge deal, except this TV has no buttons on it, anywhere. It's like the only way to turn the thing on is by remote.

So I went and picked up an RCA universal remote, figuring I'd just plug in the codes, and turn it on that way. No such luck so far. The instructions say the TV has to be on to program the remote (which obviously I can't do), so I imagine that's hampering the progress.

Does anybody have any ideas for how I can get this TV on?
