Anyone have any suggestions for a remote like this? I have a TV on my patio that is basically just a second monitor for my DirecTV/TIVO in the living room (it shows only what is showing on the TV inside) but the audio for the patio is running through an old receiver in the living room. I have an IR sensor outside that runs to IR flashers in the living room. I can run everything fine with the 2 existing remotes, but I would rather not have to keep taking them outside and then bringing them back in. It would be nice to have a single, basic remote that can learn a few commands from each component remote. Water resistant would be nice. Cheap would be nice. I have looked at the Dolphin Remote, but it's a little expensive. Any other ideas?

RTI has announced one, but it is RF and needs a base station inside, so I am not sure it is going to be any cheaper than than the Balboa Dolphin. You can see it here: [Link: rticorp.com] Infrared Remote Solutions claims to have something on the way, though that has been up on their Web site for quite some time now with no further details forthcoming: [Link: infraredremote.com] All in all, I suspect the Dolphin is the only game in town right now.

Perhaps somebody knows where to find this one: [Link: dmec.ch]I saw it listed from Donberg in Ireland and it looks like it will be <$50 including shipping to the states.

I was able to find out a little about that one: The OEM manufacturer is Aifa in Taiwan, see here: [Link: aifa.com.tw]. The European distributor is Nedis ( www.nedis.com, sign on as "Guest" and drill down their catalog menus until you get to the "HQ" brand of universal remotes). Unfortunately, I cannot find any U.S. distributor for that product. I'm hoping someone else on this forum can recognize one of the other Aifa models on that Web site and help identify a distributor for you. Good luck!
