I have a Harmon Kardon Citation 25 pre-amp and a Harmony SST-659 remote. I don't have the orignal remote for the pre-amp and I would like, of course, to get the Harmony to work with the pre-amp.

I've been having trouble getting codes for the pre-amp, but in talking with H/K I learned that their "USR1" remote would control the Citation 25. I'm guessing then, that if I obtained one of those, I could use it to teach the Harmony.

However, I don't see any mention of a USR1 remote on the web and H/K said it's a direct order from them and about $200. I guess I could buy it, learn from it, and then resell on ebay.

Now I'm thinking that the TC1000 should be able to control the Citation and I can find those easily on ebay. H/K couldn't confirm that the TC would control the Citation and again suggested the USR1, but as a newbie to all this, my question is, would it be worth getting a TC1000 and giving it a try? Shouldn't H/K's own remote at least control all of its own branded devices?

Thanks,

--Chris

I wouldn't bet on it. It might, it might not. The fact that it's a H/K is only a mildly positive sign. Sony's remotes don't work with Sony VisionTouch equipment... Prontos have been known to have trouble with some Philips equipment, etc.
