macro length or number of macros take the most space?

i ask as i have run out of space..... but i wonder if i could gain too much space by changing my mom and dads favorite channel macros...

i set up thier channels with the channel name and each macro looks like

select
exit

the number obviously then select (like enter on this box) then exit to clear the display status thingy....

would removing the select and exit from the say 30 macros make a big amount of space free?
