I have trouble using the JBL TC-1000 with my cable box. Unless the remote is lined up with the cable box the buttons are not recognized. My DVD player works fine when I use the touch screen from any position, as long it is pointed in the general direction of the DVD player. Do you think this is an issue with the LED's not being powerful enough? Cable box and DVD player are about 10 ft away from the remote.
I have reprogrammed the remote for the cable box but there is no change. Also incase I need to change the IR LED's do I replace the existing ones or do I solder on top of them ?
Thanks in advance.

Yeah ... I have the same problem with my VCR .... need to pretty much point it directly at the unit. I think the more powerful LEDS might fix it ... will try it this weekend.

I had the same problem and simply replacing the exisiting batteries with the 3.6 volt Tadiran batteries made all the difference. They're expensive, but a much easier solution to replacing the LEDs. As others have pointed out previously, higher voltage doesn't seem to bother the unit.
