I hope one of you experts on this board has some advice. Most of the subjects and threads are very informative and I really appreciate and use them.
I am a dealer and can provide my clients with the TC1000 or the Pronto. IMHO, the TC1000 is more user friendly and most of my clients are able to add functions on there own. The Pronto is nice but hard for the regular guy to program, it's built of a slick material and it's wedge shaped so it drops right out of your hand if you are not paying attention.

My question is this: I have a system with an X-10 infrared controller. The TC1000 has taken codes from very other remote in the system (9 of them)but because it won't take the X-10 codes it's worthless to the client. My only other option is Lexicon at 5 times the price.

Any thoughts or solutions are greatly appreciated.

Stephen,

Have you tried calling the X-10 folks and get their opinion? One other thing to try would be to see if the X-10 commands can be accepeted into another learning remote, and then try and transfer them to the TC1000 from the other remote.

Stephen, there are X-10 codes in the built-in TC1000 database. Try adding a device of type, "Home Controller." X10 is at the bottom of the list, and there is a single code set. It works great with my IR to X10 transceiver. The reason you may not be able to learn the codes from your X10 remote is that most of those remotes transmit X10 codes over radio--the IR LED is used only for A/V equipment.

Best of luck,

Drew,

Thanks very much. I suppose if I read the manual completely somewhere it would have mentioned that.
I'm at the client's home now and it's working perfectly. The strange thing about this is that the TC1000 would accept the codes of an X-10 infrared remote but would no retransmit them.

Your board has proved invaluable to me. Thanks again,

Stephen Picardi
