I have my IRIQ for a little over a week. I agree that the IR is a little picky in my environment, however I have a repeater that helps me a lot. Overall, I like the IRIQ.

The only problem I have had is sometimes the IRIQ doesn't remember what I programmed into it. For example:

I go a set the clock and the timeout for the display. After a day or two, these settings are back to their defaults. Luckily, this isn't very important.

Another example, when I spent time to teach the IRIQ new codes from my receiver's remote, I sync'ed up with my software and found only 6 out of 30 codes were still in remote. I specifically chose to sync the software up with the IRIQ - I didn't do a merge. The only way I could successfully teach the IRIQ ALL the codes was to do it while it was hooked up to the computer.

Anyone have a similar experience?

I also have trouble with the date & time. No big deal, but must be a bug. I have not had a problem with the remote losing codes. I always rewrite my remote from the PC. I happen to like this remote and the PC interface. I do not have many of the problem some are talking about. But I also happen to like many of the Microsoft products. Happen to think that is the reason for the bad press in this forum. All my units pickup the IR 15 - 20 feet out without any problem.

If you're losing codes, try learning only when the remote is plugged in to the computer. I've seen posts where this solved the problem for people.

I have to say that once I was successfully able to program my IRIQ from the computer, I haven't had a problem with losing codes.
