I'm looking for the smallest learning remote available to program for controlling the shutter release on my digicam (and also the controls on my camcorder if it has enough buttons). Need it as small and light as possible for fitting into a camera bag...

Any suggestions? Preferably it should be as small in price as it is in size!

Thanks,

Bubba

Casio makes a remote control *watch* that can learn 16 commands... otherwise, I can't think of too many **small** remotes that can learn.

there is also the mx-200 and the harmony 745 but they are not small in price. For small price ask robman for the smallest/cheapest

I was thinking of the MX-200, but I don't think it by itself can learn.

My understanding was that the MX-200 (with serial cable) could learn from the MX-editor software and doesn't actually need a 700/800. It might just be a little hard (not impossible) to find one for sale separately, now.

you program the MX-200 using the MX software, but it does not have a learning eye, so you cannot use it to learn commands. But if you have the codes already (i.e. someone else learnt them and you have a file with them) then yes you should be able to use that file and the mx editor to program the 200 without needing the mx-700/800

P.S. this is true as long as things did not change

Yeah. It might be a little hard to find the shutter control signal for a digicam.

Well... there's a number of camera/camcorder setups for the Pronto, and MX Editor can use those files...
