I need to replace a RC for a Toshiba RAS-13LKR air-conditioning system. The original RC (Type BKR.LKR) has a clock that is used to set the turn-on/turn-off times of the system.
Anyone knows about universal RCs that could be used as replacement ?
Thanks

I'd recommend the One For All (OFA) URC-9910. It has the timers you're looking for. It can learn your commands and it can use RF so the remote doesn't need to be pointed at the Air conditioner to work. It also has many more advanced capabilities if you use it with a JP1 cable.

The 9910 does not have timers, the last UEI remote to have timers was the URC-9800. But it doesn't have the code for a fan, soory.

Bad assumption on my part. I though if it had the LED display with time, that a timer would be included.

I have some Producer 8 remotes available that have both a clock and the "timed macro" feature that you're looking for. In order to make them control your Air Conditioner I would need to borrow the AC remote. I would then capture the signals, create an upgrade and load it into the Producer 8.

However, can you confirm that the AC uses an infrared remote (rather than an RF remote). If it uses RF, you're outta luck.

My apologies for not having replied sooner.
From your responses, I concluded that it would not be easy to replace that particular remote, so I had a try at repairing the defective unit I was intending to replace.
The only thing this unit did was to increment and decrement numbers on the display, in hexadecimal!, when certain keys where pressed. I assume it had gotten into some kind of self-test mode.
The problem disappeared after opening the case (bad contact or stuck key !?) and now it works ok.
For the moment I will not replace it. I hope the malfunction doesn't show up again for some time. In the meantime I will try to learn more about RCs so as to be more informed next time.
Thanks again to all of you for your help.

If you're looking to replace it, another user has found a remote that they claim is capable of using timers here.

Thanks eakf for the lead. In the meantime I have also found on the web the Philips SBCRU885 that, at least 'on paper', has the required clock and timers. It is overkill for an air-conditioning system alone, but its cost is similar to a new RC from the original manufacturer, and it has the advantage that I could really replace *all* my RCs. It seems very convenient for this last purpose, since I live in Spain, and the SBCRU885 is geared to the european market.
