Hi all,
I need a universal remote for my electronics. Now, the catch is that I don't have a HT+cable system; While I have DVD's, VCR's etc, I'd like to use it mostly with stereo equipment. Most of what I have is not mainstream. So I'm pretty sure at least 2 devices will have to be "fed" button by button - therefore, it's gonna have to have plenty of memory.

I'm not very interested in hard buttons because like I said I have almost no use for the "surfing/joystick" central element, channel +/- , favorites, and such. Those would just make the remote bigger - and I would hardly use them. On the other hand, I WILL use it with DVD's TV's etc., so I need the features, only not as the main elements of teh remote.

I think it's gonna have to be a customizable touchscreen so that I can replicate the original buttons for each device.

To make a long story short, I'm looking for something like Crisp Solutions UCommand 515 or One For All Director URC-9900, maybe Take Control or Pronto; for customization the iPAQ H3950 looks like a nice one, but it has poor performance? (I kinda like this last one as customization is my first priority)

Decisions, decisions. Anyone wanna chime in?

Can't say anything about the other remotes, but stay away from the URC-9900, a terrible remote. It doesn't have enough memory for you to learn one component. It includes a stylus, you will need to use that stylus at all times.

I was travelling with my cousin, and we were looking to see where we should eat. He said, let's look inside the restaurant and pick one that is full. he said "We might need to wait a bit, but if everyone is eating there then there should be something going for it."

Same thing with the remotes. Look at the Pronto forum, look at the file section. Definitely in the TS market nothing comes close

Based on this, then you might want to look at the Home Theatre Master MX-500. 139 users have eaten at this restaurant. Read their reviews here.

It doesn't come with a touchscreen, but you can have customized buttons to suit your needs. But if you're set against hard-buttons and prefer something more flashy/expensive, then the Pronto TS lineup might be for you.
god helps those who help themselves.

If he goes with HTM, then there is the MX-3000 that sounds good, but it is not out yet.
