Ok my parents have a "fairly" simple setup and just want to do away with multiple confusing remotes.
They have a Samsung 50" DLP TV, an RCA receiver, DirecTV box, and a Sony DVD player.
Thats about it, the key thing is ease of use, if its difficult for me to program oh well i can live with it. I personally have an mx700 and absolutely love it and it would probably work for them. The SST-659 looks even easier to use but the web config worries me, not being able to learn keys from another remote makes me think some functions I won't be able to perform ?
Suggestions ? Thoughts ?

the web makes it easier to config, it also means a constantly updated database. Also the Harmony can learn from other remotes.
As for the best, tough question. If the equipment does not have discrete codes, I would have to say Harmony because of the variables that keep track of what is on. Also the harmony has a help button in case something goes wrong, and will guide them into making stuff easier. On the negative side if they use a lot of LCD choices it can become a bit annoying flipping through screens
