Hi all,

I'm planning to buy a remote which will control: H/K AV receiver, Panasonic VCR, Yamaha tape and HTPC (being built), and a PT-AE300 projector. All of this will be controlled from the same room, either from a sofa or from a bed. The projector is ceiling mounted above the sofa, the rest is in an A/V rack front-right of the sofa, 90 degrees angle.

At the moment I'm using the H/K receiver remote as universal remote. My problems are: when seated in the sofa, it's really sensitive where I direct the remote, and usually some body parts are in the way too. Especially the receiver requires a very exact angling of the remote. And when in bed, the sofa is in the way. This means, usually a couple of attempts are needed for every action before it "takes". I'm worried that if I get a true universal remote with macro capability, if I program a sequence only some of the commands will "take" due to the problems above.

So I've been considering an R/F system like the MX-800, but that is pretty expensive, and also I don't know where I'd put the base station.

What I think I need is an IR repeater that is ceiling mounted. But the systems I've seen seem intended for controlling equipment in different rooms or behind doors, and therefore have cabling. What I think I need is something with builtin receiver and several transmitters that can be directed (in my case to both the projector and the A/V rack), and is small and inconspicuous.

What do I need?
