Probably a question that is often asked. Money not really an object, home theater, need RF as it will be behind wood, Direct Tv, Tivo, DVD, usual stuff.
What do the experts out here think?

Try giving us some more particular details about your personal preferences. I can list about a half dozen remotes off the top of my head that can acomplish what you've asked for.

Price is no object, so that's a good start.
Need RF capability, OK.
Do you like buttons or touchscreens?
Do you have all your original remotes?
Do you want or need computer programmablity?
Will the remote be used in one location or throughout the house?

There's a lot to think about and you'll find that a remote control can be a very personal selection.

Based on your criteria, check out these models:
TSU 6000 MSRP $999
TSU 3000 MSRP $399
MX-800 MSRP $349
MX-600 MSRP $249
OFA URC-9910 MSRP $90
RS 15-2117 MSRP $49

Also, run through the Clicker Picker for what it's worth. It may provide you with other options. Finding one that's all singing and dancing, won't be as "easy to use" as you might need. Let us know about your comfort level with computers and any experience programming universal remotes. Perhaps you'll consider paying someone to set up a remote for you?

Well, to answer some of the questions. It will be a brand new system, so I will have all my remotes, system is to be professionally installed, so I think the installer will set up the remote if I ask him (pay him) to. I am a computer person, so I love the idea of using my computer to program, rather then fiddling with the remote buttons. I don't do a lot of tinkering with my components, once the system is set, I doubt if I would add somethink new more that once every 2 years. I like touch screens, but buttons for basics (volume, mute power, channel up and down) is probably good. Remote would only be needed in one place. Thanks for your help already!

It is possible to over-engineer some things. Get advice from your installer. They will have a better idea what you need and what they're capable of programming for you. I think you're going to be looking at the Pronto Pro TSU-7000 or higher (AMX, Creston, etc).
