My RCA (RCU310) remote just won't work with my Broksonic VCR. . . The light flashes when I enter the codes and everything, but that's as far as I get with it.

I'm not even sure what code I should be entering: the instruction manual says 012 and 025 are the right numbers to enter for a Broksonic VCR, and this site says 010. What should I do? :O

Have you tried either the manual or the automatic code search mentioned in the manual?

It doesn't take much for an RCA remote to make you sick of it. I am glad you solved your problem because I didn't have anything else to offer in the way of advice.

Hi, Not sure I am happy with this message. I have a RCA Universal Remote. Tonight is the 2nd time my remote has lost it programming. I can not seem to get it to work even after trying both processes I was told previously to use. Do you have any suggestions? Why all of a sudden is this happening?
Thank you...

As you might guess from Ron's reply, and many others you might find if you crawl thru the archives here, the best place to store an RCA remote is the trash can. Actually that's the best place for most cheap remotes.

IMHO, the best brands for cheap remotes are One For All and Radio Shack. The cheaper OFAs will still lose their programming when the batteries fail, but the slightly higher end ones (like the $19 URC-8811 or URC-8810w) will do everyting you want.
