I prefer the Pronto (any in the family) and Harmony (I like better the SST-768 to the original model)

For hose that want push buttons you can also add the MX-500 and MX-700 (but I never tried them)

on the cheaper side, I think UEIC makes the best remotes, they are sold under "one for all" and "Radio Shack"
