I need a universal remote to control my Sony/Directv SAT-60 Tivo, Denon DHT-700 DHT home theater in a box, and Toshiba VCR. I don't plan to make a lot of macros, etc. I just want a nice, simple to program and use remote for under $200. I was looking at the Home Theater Master MX-500, but the more I read about needing a separate UEIC, etc, the more complicated it looked. Help!

I forgot to add that I am also using a Sony 36 inch xbr450. Also, the Harmony remotes look like they might simplify things, too.

both the harmony and MX-500 are good remotes. It is not that you need a UEIC remote to program your 500, but since it is not PC programmable, there is no way to exchange codes. At around 200 you also have the Pronto, it is not easy to setup (and it will take some time), but might be one that you might want to consider.

I've just picked up a SIMA SUR-25 and it works for my SAT-T60, Phillips Home Theatre, Toshiba TV, Sampo DVD player and Samsung VCR.

Good value, pretty easy to use and a nice remote.
