Here's the deal. My dad is 87 years old. He is suffering from Alzheimers and spends most of his time watching TV. I got him a nice Sony Wega which he loves. However the remote has so many buttons that he often pushes the wrong one and can't figure out how to undo it. I found a Jensen remote with perfect ergonomics for him -- 1 device, on/off, channel up/down, volume up/down, 10 numbers, nothing else. However, the Jensen's IR transmitter is too wimpy for as far away as he sits, and requires careful aiming, so it caused him more frustration than the Sony. Can anyone suggest a similar simple remote with a strong IR transmitter? Thanks.

Check out the Wee-mote Sr. reviewed recently. Looks like just the ticket if all you need to control is a television. --Karl

The Weemote Sr. does not have the CH numbers, but does have some channel presets, might be better for him.

My other choice would be the harmony
