I am not going to lie to you - I've read through some of your posts and for the most part I don't have a clue what you're talking about! I had no idea that remote controls have gotten so complex!

However, I am looking for a universal remote that will simplify my already simple system (TV, Receiver, DVD, Cable box) with one hitch - My TV is an older 36' Mitsubishi tube, and I don't have the original remote! I was able to adjust some of the video settings with my brother's universal remote, but the typical 3 device, $10 universal from Circuit City doesn't offer video adjustment or other features that are not accessible from the main panel. So, I am not sure if a learning remote will fit the bill, since I have no original remote to program it with.

Would the 15-2116 fit the bill for my current system, plus the future addition of a couple more devices? Is this remote lacking in some areas due to it's $30 price tag? Sorry, but not interested in spending $100 on a remote control. Any suggestions that might make better choices than the 2116 for $50ish? Thanks guys!

The 15-2116 is a good choice, as are most One For All and Radio Shack remotes. The reason being that most of them allow you to program functions that aren't automatically programmed as part of the built in setup codes, just like the functions you mention. You do this using a concept called "advanced codes"
