The equipment included an Alpine CD/AM/FM car unit, a Nesa flat screen monitor, Nesa DVD unit with TV/Tuner and also is connected to a Sony Satellite system. I want to be able to turn on and operate all of these items with a remote that can learn all the function with buttons that match the ones on the individual remotes. Simple commands such as on/off, change channel and volume

Any suggestions for one that will work ?????

Ron

In order of preference: RS 15-2116, OFA URC-8811, OFA 8910, RCA RCU-810 IMHO.

Jim,

Thanks,
I am assuming you are experienced in finding rremotes that will allow programming of standard buttons like volume and on/off, pause, etc. and that my application is for equipment in a motorhome including Alpine, Nesa, Sony, etc. Thank you for your assistance this far. I am anxious to get this all onto one remote

Ron,

As long as the devices operate with IR rather than RF, the home vs motorhome factor really shouldn't matter. All 4 of the remotes mentioned are learning remotes just in case a function comes up missing with a particular device setup code. The alpine would be the only one that I can see that might have a dubious distinction, but a "receiver" type device code would be the first place to search. TV's, dvd players, vcr's, etc. shouldn't matter where you use them; home, motorhome, outside camping with a generator, or wherever.
You'll input or use the search function to program which of the myriad of codes pre-installed in the remote will work each device. The majority, if not all should have all the functions pre-mapped, thus channel+ should map to the channel+ button, in tv, or sat; "play" mapped to play in vcr mode, etc.
Since all of these are ueic built, they'll share the same code bases, other than the rca 810 will have an off-set of 17. If you need to add a missing function, there's a high likelihood that you can find the advance code for that function and get it added; or worse-case scenario, just learn it to a button from the oem remote.
If you get one of these, and run into a problem, post a question with all the details possible at the OFA/RS forum. If any is an RF operated device, you'll be SOL with that one as NO universal remote will handle RF signals.
