Probably most One For All and Radio Shack remotes.

You could probably start with the $15 URC-6012w available at Walmart.

Like Rob said, any remote can control your equipment. What features are you looking for. For instance if you go with a Pronto, it is a touchscreen remote, and you could easily pick the DVD by title.

I'd recommend the One for All Cinema 7+ URC-7800 although the new model is the URC-8811 and I haven't had experience there.

This will probably get you everthing that you need for under 30. The brand codes are pretty good. The number keys and the ability to learn are all excellent.

I found the 256 codes that the device can send and cycled through them until I found the code I needed and in the process found some really great things my TV could do that my original remote didn't do.

I have a really weird collection of equipment Satellite, Samsung TV, Pioneer Receiver, Toshiba DVD, Hitachi VCR in my home theater.

I don't think one exists. I found the Zeineth models have some good features (see my post above), and are very inexpensive but the second set of menu controls has buttons that are too small, unmarked (other than A, B, C, D) and are just not logically universal in nature, shape and position.

I think DVD is hardest to deal with since it requires both fast forward and skip buttons (and vice versa back buttons). Remembering which symbol is skip and wich is FF using conventional pre-dvd button configuration is so annoying that I've given up.

Good luck!

May I humbly suggest the following buttons for those functions:

REW - rewind
FWD - fast forward
CH+ - skip forwards
CH- - ship backwards

and on the new OFA remotes, you also have the option of...

REW - rewind
FWD - fast forward
F.FWD - skip forwards
F.REW - ship backwards
