Even with Sony's IR sensor that comes with their remote. Is there a code/way for the boot/power/off button on the front of the console. There has to be a work around for having to physicaly get up and hit button every time you want to use the thing?

If you ask me it seems like you need to do a little "inside work" Is the button on the front a hard or soft switch (in otherwords does it physically connect power or is it a light touch button that sends a power up signal to the Playstation). I would assume you would need to get an external IR learning circuit (Radio Shack has a couple build it yourself kits) then you would need to wire it in, this is of course assuming Sony is going to keep any discrete IR held tightly to their chest. Sorry I don;t know much about the Playstation, I got the Xbox since it supports HDTV. :)
