Is there anyone who can tell me the most painless way to make either a serial card (pcmcia) or one of those little usb to serial converters work? I'm trying to program pronto remotes, and others, but the software will not see the remote. I've tried both the card and the converter, am I missing something here. My laptop has no serial ports- thank you compaq. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
