Is there a way I can crank up the output of the IR LEDs on this remote? It is strictly line-of-sight now, and I'd like to be able to burn a hole in my wall. I don't care about battery usage. Thanks!

I think line of sight is defined as roughly 6 miles across water considering the average male is 5-10. If you're getting line of sight distance with your remote now, we should all be getting rc-2000's. If you need more distance than that, try bouncing off a satellite. For burning holes thru the wall, you might be better off with a laser, but they operate at much higher frequencies and way shorter wavelengths. I don't think even hooking into a 24,000 volt power transmission line would give any Infared led enough power to burn thru walls, although it's possible the carpeting may catch fire.
