The four button (AUX, VCR, TV, CABLE) remote that ships with the scientific atlanta box has a JP1 connector at the back. It also has programming instructions that look very similar to the OFA remotes. It does not however have a key marked 'magic'.
Can this remote be used with EFC codes? What key to use instead of the magic key?
Thanks,
Jester

there's been several key names that are used on various models that are equivalent to the "magic" Some RS's use "P", some OFA's use "set" or "setup". My 6800 uses a "star-shaped" key labelled "setup", my 1994 uses a green "P" for the equivalent "magic" key. It has been reported that quite a few SA's are indeed remarked ueic remotes of varying "flavors". I suspect your's may be a "Millenuium 4"; but it could be one of the others. Yes, it can be used with efcs, provided the device setup code doesn't happen to be a combo code, unlikely for just a cable box, although not impossible. Jim
