Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a remote to control my home theater system from another room. I remember something called the "rabbit remote" but after searching around I can't find hide nor hair (hare? sorry....).
In any case what I'd really ideally like is a box to recieve my infrared signals from remote that transmits to another box in the home theatre room (by hardwire or RF i'd imagine) so that I could control my stereo receiver, cable box, TIVO, VCR and DVD.

Does this exist? Or are there Universals that would control this equipment that also have similar functions that allow multi room usage? If universal I'd like it to control the following equipment :

Onkyo reciever, Sony TIVO (first gen), Panasonic Wide Screen projection, Panasonic DVD, Sony VCR, Scientific Atlanta Hi Def Tuner/Digital cable box, and a JVC 20" TV. (Sorry I don't have access to the model numbers right now).

Thanks in advance to anyone who can assist.

Erik

yes, there are many. radio shack has the pyramids, smarthome.com has many models, Xantech makes a wired solution.

Yes, there are some cheaper solutions, but I would look at the ProntoPro, Marantz 5200, Marantz 9200, and soon the Pronto TSU-3000

Erik,

OFA also just released the urc9910. It comes packaged with the "box" for the receiving end, and doesn't require a "box", pyramid, or whatever in the other room you're sending from as the remote emits the RF signals to the HT room "box". The package can be found for a LOT less than any of the remotes that Anthony mentioned, and the remote is JP-1 ready, making it even more potentially powerful. I think you can find these for around 50.00. Pronto will run u 10x that amount.
You can find double pyramids, but by the time you pay the 30 (minimum) for a set of pyramids, + the remote to use with it, you're already well above the cost of the 9910. Unless you want to use the original remotes for all your units, which would be a bit unwieldy.
