i am a remote control and electronics illiterate. so please bear with me. i have a philips-magnavox 32 inch tv and a panasonic vcr. i resently purchased:

Sony 300 Disc CD Changer - CDPCX355/ MegaStorage Control/ CD-R/CD-RW Playback/ 32 Step Program Play/ Control A1 II/ Custom File Memo/ CD Text/ Keyboard Input/ 2 Jog Dials/ Remote Control/

Toshiba Progressive Scan DVD Audio & Video Player - SD5700/ 10-Bit 54mHz Video D/A Conversion With Super Anti-Alias Filter And 8:8:8 Processing/ Built-In Dolby Digital Decoding/ MP3 Compatible Playback/

Onkyo Home Theater System - HTS650/ 5 x 100 Watts/Channel @ 8 Ohms/ Dolby Digital & Pro Logic II/ DTS Decoding/ 5.1 Multi-Channel Input/ Powered Subwoofer/ Two-Way Front Speakers/ Two-Way Surround Sound Speakers/ Magnetically Shielded Center Channel Speaker.

i would like a nice remote control that is not too hard to understand. are there remote controls that display text, cause my Sony 300 Disc Changer has text and I would like it displayed on the remote so i can easily view it.

please help me. all the remotes i have now are driving me nuts, and i don't want so many. which universal remote can you recommend? you can also email me at: [email protected]
thank you.

not too sure what you mean with "hard to understand." if you mean set-up or use

The best one for CD changers (at least in my opinion) is one of the remotes in the Pronto family
(Philips Pronto, ProntoPro, Marantz 5200, 9200, Onkyo Chad, Yamaha Rav2000)

it will not read the info off your Sony changer, but you can create an index on it for disk and tracks if you want. There is a review of the ProntoPro and the Pronto TSU2000.

..........
this is not easy to do, and to get something good takes time.

But I do think it is the only remote that will be able to give you the list functionality on the CD changer
