I have a remote control dilemma. I recently won a Nintendo 64 interactive display at a local store - inside is a monitor/reciever manufactured by Philips. To change the channels and turn the unit on/off, I purchased a simple universal remote . I did notice some odd things however, such as the menu choices having only closed captioning available, and there being no way to adjust picture quality. After extensive research on the internet using my model number (PA5020) I soon found out that the unit I had was also used in hotels, and that in order to adjust picture settings such as brightness, tint, color, etc., I would need a "special setup remote transmitter" (part number RG4172BK). I tried to order this part from Philips but they said that it was their policy not to ship it to a standard user and that they would only ship it to a business. So, I tried ordering from a 3rd party source but they, along with several other companies didn't have that remote in stock any longer.

Last night I found out about the Philips Pronto, and I was wondering if this would be another alternative if I could not find the RG4172BK. I have looked for codes for it but have had no luck.

If you could offer any advice whatsoever, it would be very, very, very, much appreciated.

Thank you!!

The Pronto would only work if you knew the hex codes for the remote it would be replacing.
