I got a used Phillips TV (TP2785C1). I found the TV's manual online, but it shows a different remote. I found the remotes model #s and can only find how to order a new one. If anyone knows how or if this control can be setup for my RCA VCR, please help. I know there is a way to do a code search, but how.

You only told us that your TV came with a different remote than the one shown as packaged with the TV; However, you didn't tell us what remote you have in hand. Seems to me you have 2 options, get a replacement remote for the TV, and it may not work anything else, or use the remote that came with it (unknown to us currently) and see if that one will operate your rca vcr. We don't even know if you looked into that possibility. If you want to know how to do a code search with your current remote, it mite help if we knew what that remote was.

I have a RCA10U81FX and I want to use it to control several devices. THe devices I want to use it for are as follows:
Sherwood Stero Receiver Model RV-4050R, A Motorola Cable Box, RCA Tv XL-100.
Someone gave me this remote but unfortunately without the book. I don't even know what half of these buttons do. Which button or buttons do you use to program the codes once I have them.
