I need a GI/Jerrold XRC100 as a replacement remote for a GI/Jerrold CFT2200 cable box. Jerrold doesn't sell to (and won't even talk to) the general public; my cable company supplies an All for One universal remote but I prefer the original Jerrold remote; and I cannot find any supplier on the web. Any help gratefully received.

Well, [Link: picomacom.com] lists the product but doesn't state if they sell it. The sample text that came up in the search engine suggested it sells for $25, however I cannot find that page on their site. At minimum they might be able to refer you elsewhere. Nothing else useful can be found.

Thanks for the lead. They only sell to distributors, and the two distributors whose names they gave me only sell to cable companies. It seems that GI is very uptight about cable theft and so controls distribution of its cable equipment very tightly, although as far as I know it is hard to steal cable buy buying a remote!

I have a General Instument XRC 110 universal remote which comes pre-programmed for the CFT-2200.In addition to the usual buttons it controls the menu, program guide and Music Choice (or Digital Music Express). I picked it up for $5.99 at a closeout store called Big Lots several months ago.

I am now on my second GI XRC 100, they can be purchased here in Canada for approx $10.00 CDN. My kids broke the first and I just bought the second one about a month ago. I purchased in just down the street. I don't know of a place on the net wher you can get it.

I have one that you can have for a nominal cost, trade, favors, etc... :) I was out here trying to find the codes for it and saw this message. It sounds as though you need it more than I do. If you haven't found one and are interested shoot me a note to [email protected].

I, too, have a GI XRC 100 Universal Remote and have lost the manual. Any help would be much appreciated. I am trying to program it for a Sharp VC-A556 VCR. Happy holidays.

XRC 100 Universal Remote Control. I finally found a site, but it took several attempts at getting the PDF version, quite some time actually. The website is [Link: gicout60.gic.gi.com]. You need acrobrat reader to download this manual (2 pages). Hope you guys & gals get it on your first attempt. I know I was frustrated. :)
