I would like to known how employed this protocol (RC-MM)and what is it functionality.

I am not sure of your question,
RC-5 and variations (RC-MM) is the IR Protocol developed by Philips. It has a toggle bit at the end (every time you press the button it sends a different command like press 1 and it sends 1a, press it again and it sends 1b, press it a third time and it sends 1a again)this way the receiving device knows when you have repressed the button orif it is one long press.
