Any of the radioshack or one for all remotes can be programmed using remote codes, and possibly advanced discrete codes if available, if you have lost your remote and cannot learn this feature, I would try this. Radioshack has a pretty lenient return policy if it doesnt work. There remotes are pretty cheap as well, and have many undocumented features (I would check out
www.hifi-remote.com. I have the 15-1993 ($19, which has a light, there are other models ranging from $10-50).
I use that remote for my bedroom, although for many it has enough features.
If you want something more advanced, I would consider the Home Theater Master MX-500, a great remote, and if it doesnt have the feature to control your vcr, get the cheapest radioshack model, and learn the features you want. I recommend starting with one of the radioshack models first though, since it is easier to return (no mail order needed), much cheaper, and may do everything you want.
