I have an odd problem. I do a manufacturer's reset, and can switch between all components using the device keys. (I have an RCA receiver so it works by default.) But then, I program the VCR, which is a non-RCA product. The remote accepts the code, and controls the VCR just fine, but when I press the VCR device key, the reciever won't switch! The only thing that I can think of is that the key goes dead cause everytinh else works. This problem also occurs when I program my TV, and my satellite. Anybody got any ideas?

This won't be any help, I'm afraid... but it probably belongs here:
I just started fiddling with the new Platinum RCA RCU800 learning remote. I am having a terrible time with it "forgetting" device codes, like yours, Chris. I program in VCR, it operates... I come back next day, it doesn't work any more.
I've reset the devices, and I've reset the unit (remove batteries, hold down any key for 60 seconds, replace batteries). Nothing helped.
I'm working very hard trying to get some assistance from RCA engineering, but as of this posting, the U.S. guys don't even have the specs available, let alone a remote. ... Maybe they should head over to Best Buy.... ... Mike

I had the problem that you describe - the one where it loses the codes that you entered the next day.
I reprogrammed them one more time and they have been fine ever since.
