Hello all;
I just got an RCU810 am I'm pretty pleased with it. It was able to learn my Panasonic LaserDisc functions just fine. And The ReplayTV support was a blast.
I do have one annoying problem. I've assigned the VCR2 button to the ReplayTV. But when I select VCR2 on the remote, my RCA RT2250R A/V receiver doesn't switch to VCR 2. I don't have this problem with the DVD, VCR or even the LaserDisc (it's hooked up to the SAT button).
Is there some trick to get the receiver to switch to VCR2 and then address the component when the VCR2 button is pushed?
I may have to use a macro. I've tried learning the command that VCR2 sends to the receiver. No dice.

Interesting. Most remotes don't transmit any codes when you push the device select button; they simply change modes. The RCU810 must transmit the Receiver's discrete input select code for the type of device you are switching modes to on the remote. I didn't know it did this, although I know (painfully) the device select for my (symphonic) VCR toggles the power to the VCR. You can't put a macro on the device select key, so that idea won't work unless you use another button. The RCU810 doesn't have KeyMover, so I don't think you can use Advanced Codes. I'll stand by and see if anyone can give you a good answer.

This is something UEIC added to the RCU810, presumably at RCA's request as several RCA remotes work this way. From most early reports, like this one, it seems to be causing more headaches that it's worth.
