Ok....
I have the following set up:

RC A/V Receiver RT2250
Sony HiFi Stereo VCR
Panasonic 5 Disc DVD/CD Changer
Philips DirecTV/Tivo DSR6000
JVC D Series TV AV-32D302

I want to get one remote to control everything.

I would also like to get the remote to do a pass through of the volume to the A/V receiver when using the DirecTV/Tivo, the VCR and the DVD. When watching regular TV (I can't get local channels on my satelitle), I want to volume to control the TV's volume.

Will I be able to do this? Will the RCU810 remote be able to handle the DirecTV/Tivo and its functions such as record, getting to the menus, rewind, etc., etc.....

I've been think of this remote or the Sony VL900.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

That link will provide info on the RCU810. With this remote you will need to use learning to support 4 or 5 of the DirectTV/Tivo functions. The rest are built in.

My advice on the volume would be to connect the TV to the receiver either through an A/V or Aux input. Then lock the remote volume to the receiver. If you don't have audio output on the TV it gets complicated but could be done.

The way I handled the volume punch through problem was simply to do an IR learn to the volume keys for each device I wanted to punch through - so, for SAT & DVD I taught it the volume for my AMP.

If you don't want to waste your IR learn memory, you might be able to program a macro that raises and lowers your AMP volume and sacrifice your M keys.

This is the only thing (other than memory) that makes this remote a tad difficult to live with.

This remote is also a 'jp1' remote. You can make an interface cable that will allow you to change almost anything with a PC. This negates the memory problem. Check out hifi-remote.com for info.

Through the RCU801's menus you cannot assign volume punchthrough, the default is always TV and this cannot be changed unless you connect a JP1 and use the IR.exe program. RCA really blew it when this left volume punch toroug out!!
You can change the punch through to your receiver ("audio") on your RCU810 using a JP1 and IR.EXE (it take some work and basic electronics know-how).
Lots of info on this remote and the JP1 at www.groups.yahoo.com, you'll need to join the group called JP1, there you can search the messages for RCU810 and also get the program called IR.EXE that works with the JP1 interface the you'll need to build. Failing that you'll have to use up your precious hlearning memory to learn your receiver's volume for each device.
