I have a Bose Lifestyle 12 theater system but I want to be able to use a single remote for everything including the volume. I have not seen anything that will allow me to do this. Does anyone know of a workaround? If I have to replace that Bose CD player with a new AV receiver I am willing to do so. Does anyone know if this can be done?
Thanks,
Darren

Is the Bose remote RF only? If so, you are out of luck.

complicated question (or at least complicated to answer). Easy answer: NO! Bose uses RF Hard answer: There have been posts on here of a device manufactured by Bose that does IR->RF. But there have been some posts that it was discontinued and other posts that it ghas not. Plus it only works with some Bose equipment, and I do not know wich ones.
So if all the statements are true 1) you can find this device 2) it works with your equipment 3) it is worth $$ getting
then you should be able to use it with any universal learning remote. If any of the above three statements is false then you do not have a choice

But what IR source would you learn FROM if the Bose remote is RF only?

I have called Bose and also stopped by a Bose shop and they both tell me the same thing, that I am out of luck.
