I have an RS remote, and its great. But I can't figure out how to turn on my Electrohom 8500 projector with it. It can learn the code, but the projector needs it to loop for 3 seconds before it turns on/off. I used macro to have it repeat the command it learned, but the projector doesn't like it. If I can get this on the remote, I can leave the big POS Ehome remote in the projector where it belongs. Thanks for any help.

Any hope for me? Even if I get a programmer for the remote? Man, this sucks.

I think if anybody knew how to solve your problem, you'd have the answer by now.
Only possibility I can see is possibly this could be programmed via the jp1 port. Maybe one of the guys into this stuff could comment.

I thought the 1994 learned the code exactly the way it was transmitted. By that I mean, if you are learning the code, then you need to hold the button down for 3 seconds and the 1994 will learn that it needs to send for 3 seconds. Probably not though as I am sure you tried that. Anyway, check out [Link: hifi-remote.com] for more info on the 1994. descentr

The 1994 will analyze the signal sent by the teacher remote, and will extract, I believe, three codes - an initial code (sent once), a repeating code (sent over and over while the key is depressed), and a final code (send once when the key is released). It doesn't store the full IR signal, just the extracted values. There are people over on JP1 who know this inside and out. The duration required for the original remote's signal may be too long for the 1994 to store and analyze properly.

Thanks guys... Guess I will see if the Jp1 guys can come up with something. Yeah, it only learns the code but doesn't keep repeating it like the projector needs. I hold it down for 3 secs, and the Remote learns the code in like 1/2 a sec. flashes the LED and is done... Thanks for the reply though.

John, Are you 100% sure that you are learning the code correctly. Here's what should happen, when you put the 15-1994 into learn mode, the LED will flash rapidly. At this point start pressing the projector remtoe and keep pressing. as soon as you start pressing the projector button, the LED on the 15-1994 will turn off, but keep pressing the projector button until the LED on the 15-1994 flashes twice. When it does flash twice, press and hold SETUP until it flashes twice again. Once you've done all this, you should be able to just press the 15-1994 button for as long as you need to power the projector on. Rob. http://www.hifi-remote.com

Yep, did all that... exactly like you said. Just did it again a minute ago. The remote learns the code just fine, but something about the remote trying to repeat the code that the projector just doesnt seem to get. Thanks though.
