Manual for Philips SBC RU880 states this remote is designed to operate with Philips SBC LI510 Remote Control Extender. Has anybody heard of it/ seen it /used it or knows how to buy it in Australia.
Thanks for all info in advance

As far as I know, the Remote control Extender is the package I bought a couple of month ago. It constists of a small IR-receiver/radio transmitter and a similar radio receiver/IR-transmitter so you can send IR signals from one room to another. I use it to control my 2 satellitrecievers and my VCR from my bedroom so I can change channels and watch video on my TV there. The IR-transmitter should be placed so it can "see" the equipment it send signals to. You also get a small cable with to diodes on to place on equipment "out of sight" - but the cable is rather short (< 1m.).

You should be able to extend it to 4 rooms (I think).

It works fine for me. Only problem was that my TV in the bedroom and the TV in the livingroom used the same codes so I had to place the transmitter so it couldn't "see" my TV ;-)

I don't know if you can get it in Australia - I live in Denmark - just about as far from Australia as you can get!!

Kaso- Thank you for an extensive answer.
Philips SBC RU880 manual states - "And because the SBC RU880 can be set up to transmit Rf signals, you don't even need the Transmitter section of the LI510 system!"

That makes it even easier to use! (if you've got the RU880).

I use it with my original remotes from my bedroom - in the livingroom they have been replaced by a Marantz RC1200 (which in fact is a lot better than the original remote for my digital sat.-reciever).
